RATTAN COMBAT

So you want to fight (silly, silly) and you want to know what you need, where to get it, where to go and who to talk to? Initially this is really easy.

As a bare minimum all you need is a sports groin protector (for some reason most people don’t lend these out).  All other equipment is usually available on loan from various people (nearly any other fighter).

If you want to build up a more in depth starter fighting kit, get yourself some knee and elbow pads (skateboard/ street hockey style is okay best bet would be the kind without plastic re-enforcing). If it’s available to you RATTAN, (Furniture or Lawyers  cane) that is more than 30mm thick, if you cannot find it don’t worry we’ll help (we alway’s help).

Next it’s armour building/ buying time, and you really should talk to a marshal about what you have to protect, how to make your armour and where to get the materials to make your armour from.

There is a regular weekly training session, as well as some informal get togethers. So just roll up, introduce yourself and have a look at what we do, and don’t be shy there’s no crime in being curious.

Details of these sessions and information about armouring workshops can be found in the regular happenings section of the local newsletter or by contacting the

BARONIAL MARSHAL

You can talk to anyone about fighting, because nearly everyone has something to say,  however your best course of action is to talk to the marshal first.

Finally, Heavy Infantry combat is a lot of fun, but it’s not for everyone, but you’ll never know if you don’t give it a go.

Luckily we also do combat archery, which involves all sorts of missile weapons, and rapier combat.

If you have any problem’s or questions, talk to anyone , if  they can’t help they’ll know who can.
